Legacy Docstar Setup Migrated to SharePoint Online

Pompano Beach, Florida, USA – Star Knowledge Technology Alliance Team, LLC, a recognized global software consulting solutions and services provider, today announced that it has successfully assisted a client who is a predominantly large Real Estate company migrate from a legacy DocStar based file server setup for a client into SharePoint Online as the ECM solution.

The client was running the current setup of their ECM on an older DocStar installation and was challenged with performance and security constraints in addition to dwindling support and rising maintenance cost of the on-prem solution. The client had approached Star Knowledge to explore a cost-effective solution to manage their scans and older documents with minimal administrative overheads and enhanced security settings. SharePoint Online was the solution of choice as the new ECM environment where the client would be able to manage the document scans natively with the use of the OneDrive Sync Client to push the documents on the SharePoint Online Document library with superior control over security and privileged access.

Star Knowledge successfully managed to perform the local mapping of the existing DocStar setup and migrate the previously scanned large client document dating back to more than 14 years with the assistance of ShareGate Migration tool to SharePoint Online. Once on SharePoint Online, our consultants designed custom views to enable personalization of user experience on Document library. Moreover, the users who had to access the documents from within the firewall earlier are now free to access the documents on the fly making the access for the agents a much simpler process.
