The Client

The client is a Leading Asset Management Organization in the USA. As a highly recognized asset manager, the client provides a range of solutions to financial firms, professionals, and institutions with the objective of providing complete financial security.

The Need

The client needed to build asset management and asset tracking solution to help organizations keep track of their assets, detailed depreciation and maintenance plans of the product lifecycle along with a document management system accessed based on the user role. The client needed a mobile app and a web solution to help their clients manage and tag assets using QR codes. Additionally, the client needed an easy to use UI and workflow design to ensure easier management and use of Microsoft SharePoint.

The Challenge

The client needed a QR code generator specific to each asset entered into the system to help tracking, tagging, and verification. Additional complexities were involved due to the need to generate depreciation reports on-demand with a detailed summary of each asset’s status. The solution also needed to have group-based access to the system for each user.

The Solution

The SharePoint consultants at Star Knowledge proposed a SharePoint Online Solution to the client to manage all reports and workflows involved during the process of tagging and verification. The solution was built on SharePoint Online with group-based access to give user roles and rights to the system.

The solution involved having a QR code generator integrated to help generate QR codes for each asset to be tagged. The solution used complex depreciation computation methodologies to help the client assess assets and manage their product tracking and lifecycle. Once the assessment and depreciation are computed, reports are dynamically generated and organized in the document management portal with a dynamic generation of asset summary represented by interactive graphs.
